Diese Seite hier ist ja leider verwaist, aber falls sich jemand wundert was mit Flash Gamez los ist:

Dieses wurde eben von unserem Hoster all-inkl.com abgeschaltet. Aus der Begründung:

Hallo Herr Mosel,

soeben mussten wir eine Nicht-Erreichbarkeit des Servers, auf dem sich Ihr Account befindet, in unserem Monitoring feststellen. Eine Prüfung dessen ergab, dass Ihr Account die Überlastung verursachte. Den Großteil der Performance die insgesamt 50 Kunden zu Teil sein sollte, benötigen allein Sie. Momentan ist so die Erreichbarkeit des gesamten Servers und aller sich darauf befindenden Accounts nicht nur gefährdet sondern schlicht nicht mehr gegeben.

Wir mussten daher kurzfristig reagieren und haben Ihren Account flash.plasticthinking.org per CHMOD 700 abgeschalten. Die SUB-Domain ist nicht mehr dadurch erreichbar.

Sehen Sie eine Möglichkeit die Webseite zu optimieren, so dass die Last heruntergeht? Wir selbst sehen, dass Sie sehr viele Besucher bei der Domain haben und damit auch Dateianfragen (Hits), die diesen Monat bei schon 7.948.124 liegen. Im August waren es sogar 8,8 Millionen Hits, welches für einen normalen WebShared Tarif zu viel ist. Ein solches Aufkommen an Besuchern und Hits kann nur ein Leistungsstarker ManagedServer bewältigen.

Dazu kann ich erstmal nur sagen dass ich den Tarif ALL-INKL-PRIVAT PLUS (unlimitierter Traffic!) habe, und dass ich keine Caching-Plugins testen kann ohne Zugriff auf den Webspace zu haben. Zumindest nicht ohne weiteres. Dementsprechendes habe ich eben dem Support geschrieben und nun harren SteBu und ich erstmal der Dinge.

Update: all-inkl bietet mir an mich 7 Tage lang auf einen eigenen Server zu legen damit ich sehen kann wie ich das regel. Das ist doch schonmal was.

Update II vom 27.9.: Leider ist der Ausweichserver so schwach auf der Brust, dass uns das auch nicht weiter bringt. Siehe bei SteBu.

Your blog will then be listed in the sidebar for the Microlearning Tag, right there at the left side where it says 'Who's Blogging about Microlearning'. Your blog will also appear in the Blog Finder: Blogs about microlearning and Explore: microlearning. Isn't that neat, or what?

But I can implement a new design :-)
Like it? It's kinda miminalistic, but I like it much better than the previous one. As usual, it is W3C-compliant, valid XHTML, does not make use of tables, and relies on CSS formatting for layout purposes.

(As always, I am much more likely to post something to my German blog - if I find the time.)

Hi there! Some people have been asking me if everything is allright with me, since I haven't been posting here for a pretty long time. Well, what can I say? I'm fine, but it just seems like blogging in english does not really work for me.
Anyhow, here's a little roundup of what's been happening, just in case you're wondering, too.

After having written my diploma thesis, I finally managed to do all the diploma exams at the end of last year, and got my diploma with honors :)
Since the beginning of April I've left the city of Giessen and currently reside in Innsbruck, Austria. I will be working for the eLearning Environments Studio of Researchstudio.at until the end of June, maybe longer. I was already here last year at the Microlearning Conference 2005, and now I am working for them on the didactial research & design of their microlearning product, which goes by the name of Knowledgepulse.

Unfortunately, I do not have internet access in the flat where I am staying, so there won't be much blogging going on in the next couple of months, since I have to stay longer at my workplace to use the internet for private purposes. It's pretty hard not to have internet access at home when you're used to reading, blogging, listening to music, chatting with friends, making calls with skype, watching tv and pretty much everthying else on the internet. I feel kinda disabled. But I do like my new job, so I guess that makes it up.

Oh and by the way, I got a new phone number here coz the roaming charges for my German SIM card are just ridiculous. So I got myself an Austrian SIM card by T-Mobile, the number is +43 676 395-3423. Feel free to call!

Tagging Microlearning 2005 and BlogWalk 9.0

Martin Lindner asked me to summarize our idea how to tag our content about Microlearning 2005 and BlogWalk 9.0, so that we can stay in touch, develop new ideas and maintain a web-based discourse on the topics.

At the end of BlogWalk 9.0, we came to the conclusion that it would make sense to tag photos, postings, links and so on with both "Microlearning" and "Microlearning2005", or "Blogwalk" and "Blogwalk9", respectively. This enables people to choose if they want to see all Blogwalk photos, or just photos from Blogwalk 9.0.

You can tag your photos with Flickr, Buzznet or 23people, for example.

It is also possible to tag any blog post, regardless of the blogging system, if your blog gets indexed by Technorati. Just use Technorati Tags to tag your posts. This is how it is done: At the end of your blog posting, just insert the following code for any tag you'd like to include: <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/YourTagHere" rel="tag">YourTagHere</a>.

So, if you'd want to tag your posts with "Microlearning", "Microlearning2005", "BlogWalk", and "Blogwalk9" like I am doing now, you would use

You can also use a bookmarklet for tagging your posts, so you don't have to enter all that code. Just drag & drop this bookmarklet to your browser and click it in order to enter your tags: Technorati Tags Bookmarklet. Seperate different tags with spaces.

Each of Technorati's Tag Pages also has an RSS feed which is publicly available and contains all the posts. Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to the del.icio.us and flickr tag feeds seperately, because the Technorati feeds only show weblog postings.

You can also generate RSS feeds with keywords instead of tags. This means that you will also find entries which use the term "microlearning" in the posting, for example, even if they are not tagged with that term. Just like a technorati search. In order to do this, you'd have to get an account at Technorati and add these terms to your watchlist, and you'll get an RSS feed then. I already did this for the terms "Microlearning" (RSS) and "BlogWalk" (RSS), so you can just use these liberated feeds without having to register.

Back from Innsbruck

I just came back from Microlearning 2005 and BlogWalk 9.0 in Innsbruck last night, where I stayed from Wednesday until Sunday. It was great to be there, and I hope to meet a lot of people again next year at Microlearning 2006! I also hope to collaborate with Research Studios Austria in the future, in some way or the other. They really are onto something.

Thanks to Martin Lindner, Theo Hug and Peter Bruck for asking me to come! It was great to meet Sebastian Fiedler and Chris Langreiter again, and I also got to know Michael Schuster (twoday.net), Roger Fischer (kaywa.ch), Seb Paquet, Bryan Alexander, Arnaud Leene, Norm Friesen, Hagen Graf, Andrea Handl, Renate Millebner, Patricia Köll, Wolf Hilzensauer, Gernot Tscherteu, Junichi Azuma, Bruno Haid and many others.

I found both the discussions and presentations on MicroContent and MicroLearning as well as the social networking very rewarding, and hope that we will not stop here but transform and establish this discourse on the web. I will write more about this later, I just need some time to let things settle a bit.

Sébastien Paquet (National Research Council Canada) and Sebastian Fiedler (University of Augsburg) published their text for Microlearning 2005:

Abstract
The Web is rapidly evolving towards a much more dynamic and broadly participative medium. In the Web 2.0, everyone can, and many people indeed do, become creators. Content from a rapidly widening array of sources becomes available as digital flows of reusable/remixable objects. In this context, learners are empowered to create personal learning environments. This contribution seeks to illustrate through concrete examples how this is happening, and tease out salient implications of this transition: learning becomes networked and personalized; valuable learning resources become increasingly easy to find; and collaborative, constructivist learning is enabled.
