How to make your blog validate

Out of the box, blogger.com weblogs have some non-valid xhtml code.
I'll show you how to make your weblog validate. This assumes that you have a blogger.com weblog with a default template, and basic knowledge in HTML. I'll skip the details why valid code matters and why your blog should be compliant to it. You can check your website's html code for compliance by using The W3C Markup Validation Service. I generated a new blog for testing compliance with an unmodified default template, and modified it until it validated.

There were some issues with blogger.com features which interfere with xhtml compliance. Follow these links to get instructions:
  1. Blogger Profile
  2. Show Email Post links
  3. Show Quick Editing on your Blog
  4. Post a Comment link
  5. Display Comments

New PGP Key

I managed to lose my PGP key somehow, so I generated a new GnuPG key (which can also be used by PGP, I guess):

stephan-mosel.asc
fingerprint: CCCF BA37 92FE B8D9 1C12 83A3 764F E7C3 7642 3797

I'd be happy if you signed my new key. Feel free to contact me and I'll confirm the fingerprint by request.

Strong encryption gets more and more important, since emails will be widely monitored by German authorities, starting January 1st, 2005. (German article: heise: Verpflichtung zur E-Mail-Überwachung trifft die Providerbranche hart).

Interviewed by PC Magazin

There's an article about weblogs in the German PC-Magazin 11/04, page 164. It's four pages about blogging in Germany, and Wolf Hosbach interviews me on weblogs, politics, journalism and motivations for blogging.
