BlogWalk is a series of face-to-face meetings aimed to bring together weblog researchers and practitioners for in-depth conversations about their work. It's initiated by Lilia Efimova, Sebastian Fiedler and Ton Zijlstra. BlogWalk 1.0 already took place on March 19th in Enschede (NL) and had a focus on weblogs in a knowledge management context. BlogWalk 2.0 is going to be on May 28th in Nürnberg (D), this time it's going to be about the role of personal Webpublishing for self-organized and informal learning.

Sebastian Fiedler invited me to attend, and after I thought about it for a while because I'm a university student (adult education/pedagogy and psycho-social medicine) and can't afford too much travel costs, I decided to go! Self-organized learning definitely is a big subject in my studies, so I'm really looking forward to discuss possible uses of weblogs in the educational field.
I had a student's job at the Department of Adult Education at the University of Giessen, where we already have successfully employed wikis in an online/blended learning course, which was a introduction into the field of adult education and also makes use of self-directed learning techniques throught the course (see also: BildungsBlog: Online Lernen mit dem Wiki).

I've done some edublogging in my personal, daily weblog and the BildungsBlog so far, but now I'm going to try to set this forth here on stephanmosel.de when it comes to blogs and self-organized learning. I still need to get back into writing in english because that's been a while, but I guess it's a matter of practice, so hang with me. ;-)
